Effective August 6, 2015 Officer Christopher Herrick has resigned from the Van Buren Township Police Department. The union provided Officer Herrick with a letter of appreciation that states:
The union received your letter of resignation on July 23, 2015. Though your last day as a Van Buren Township Patrol and Dispatcher’s Union member is August 6, 2015 your continued spirit will be indefinitely missed.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Over the last 7 ½ years you backed your members up, brought intellect to many situations, assisted in providing insight for collective bargaining negotiations, and have been a true teammate. As President of the Charter Township of Van Buren Patrol and Dispatchers Union I write you this letter of appreciation on behalf of our membership. We wish you success with your future endeavors and know you will be an asset to whatever team you choose to join!
Effective August 5, 2015 Dispatcher Brooke Lucidi has resigned from the Van Buren Township Police Department. Brooke brought a cheerful spirit to our agency. We wish you the best with your future and as a fellow union member.
There is a local fellow disabled senior resident that needs our community assistance. Here is the message I received for help:
Dear Officer Byrd, Hi, this is ******* of the City of Belleville. I live in Columbia Court and on the 3rd of next month, I am being moved back to my apt *** from ***. I need to ask friends if anyone would be able to help me unpack my boxes, and we can put things away. I’m disappointed that they expect us to unpack, like I deal with pain issues. My back and knees. I would like to ask could you help me? My # is ***-****. I’m going to see if I can get some of the officers to help me.
As the Van Buren Township Patrol Officer’s and Dispatchers Union President I will be asking my fellow officers to assist off duty and facilitate her request. If you wish to join our team for a common goal feel free to sign up at http://vbtpatrolunion.org/volunteer-to-assist-disabled-bel…/. Thank you for your partnership in making a difference in our community’s life.
